Give the Gift of Life!

Help us provide a sustainable source of food and income for our Literacy and Life Skills program in Uganda! Your gift of hens and roosters helps men and women thrive by providing opportunities to read and write in their native language, encouraging broader education, farming and agricultural skills, and business development.

Over 2,700 men and women are undergoing literacy and life skills training with Mercy. With that comes the responsibility to provide quality food and resources to help them and their families thrive. Our Chickens and Roosters Campaign provides essential, sustainable, and life-giving nutrients to these families. It also will provide an ongoing source of income to help fund and sustain the daily expenses of the Literacy program by selling the excess of produced milk, eggs, and meat.

Your gift of clucks and cows can also help adults in our reading and literacy programs by providing them with a valuable and sustainable source of income. As they learn to read and gain the tools and life skills needed to grow and sustain their own businesses, equipping them with livestock commissions them to sustainably care for the needs of their families through a continued supply of milk, eggs, and meat. In our African communities, the gift of livestock empowers families to leave extreme poverty, bringing hope and life skills to generations! Each family begins with learning to tend to the responsibilities of chicken-raising, eventually graduating to bigger livestock such as cows.
